J-1 VISA REQUIREMENTS

– Be between the ages of 18 and 38

– Secure an internship or training program with an eligible host employer

*Intern Program: Be a student currently enrolled in a degree or professional certificate program in a college, university, or other post-secondary academic institution outside the U.S.

*Trainee Program: Hold a degree from a foreign post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior work experience in his or her occupational field outside the United States; or Five years of work experience outside the United States in the occupational field in which they are seeking training

Intern and Trainee programs are designed to allow foreign university students, recent graduates, and young professionals an opportunity to enter the United States to obtain exposure to the U.S. culture and receive hands-on experience through training in the U.S. business practices. Program is applied to your chosen occupational field and experience.

The International Student Company is a Cultural Exchange Agency specialized in assisting highly educated, qualified, and multilingual students and young professionals from all around the world in achieving their goals by finding paid internship  positions with U.S. companies (FULL PLACEMENT).

We also provide J-1 Visa sponsorship for individuals (SELF PLACEMENT) who have already found opportunities with companies in the USA. Once you have secured an internship /Training position from a U.S. employer, we guide you through the visa process and provide assistance to both you and your employer.

INTERN PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Our Internship program is open to:

  •  – Students currently enrolled in a degree or professional certificate program in a college, university, or other post-secondary academic institution outside the U.S.
  •  – Individuals who have graduated from these institutions within 12 months of the internship start date
  •  – Internships must be directly related to the intern’s academic field of study
  •  – Interns should be at least halfway through their degree programs before their program start date in order to be sufficiently prepared for their U.S. internship

TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Our Training programs are open to:

  •  – Individuals who hold a degree or professional certificate from a post-secondary academic institution, college, university or other post-secondary academic institution outside the U.S. and at least one year of related professional experience from outside the U.S.
  •  – Individuals with at least five years of related professional experience from outside the U.S.
  •  – Training programs must be related to applicants’ occupational fields, which they must be actively pursuing outside of the U.S.
  •  – All trainee applicants must also be able to document their current and previous related occupational experience via letters of reference from current/former employers outside the U.S.

  •  – Pilots or crew members on ships or airplanes
  •  – Sports or physical therapy
  •  – Teachers or educational instructors
  •  – Temporary or staffing agency employees
  •  – Au pairs, maids, baby-sitting & housekeeping
  •  – Elder care
  •  – Camp counselors
  •  – Medical or Clinical work or anything involving any patient care or contact
  •  – Pharmacy positions directly related to dispensing medication to patients
  •  – Veterinary trainees involved in hands-on care of animals
